A little bit about the painting called The Moment.
It is now in a private collection and I promised the proud owner to write a story on how this piece came to life.
It happens sometimes that I start painting and it goes really quickly and my hand is just flying.
I just know... the colour, the brush and I just let it happen.
That was the case. I felt, it just came to me quickly and I was taken by the moment of creating it. No rules, no thinking, just a flow of energy and awareness of how fleeting the moment is.
I thought about soap bubbles or fire works that become so real, so profound and colourful for such a short moment and then disappear. I'm fascinated with the ephemeral nature of them. How sometimes we want the moment to last for a long, long time, hold on to it for just a bit longer. It reminded me how everything is in constant motion and how transient everything is... us, our lives, experiences, thoughts, feelings, brief interaction with each other and the world. We are only specs in the whole big universe where the only sure thing is change. It was a moment of peace, amazement and wisdom of letting go.
Holding on to anything can be a source of a lot of pain in life and we have to remember about allowing ourselves to be amazed, enjoy and release it.
I hope this painting will be a constant reminder of how we have to enjoy every moment of our life and live as everything is a miracle. That's my choice.
